Airbus A321-100 accident report

On 02 February 2016 Airbus A321-111, SX-BHS c/n 642 leased from Hermes Airlines, operating Daallo Airlines flight D3 159, suffered an in-flight explosion about 15 minutes after take-off from Mogadishu Airport, Somalia when the aircraft was at about 12,000 feet. The explosion occurred on the right hand side of the aircraft, just behind the R2 door, at or around seat 16F. A large hole was blown in the fuselage and one passenger fell out of the aircraft and was killed. Two other passengers were injured. CFM56-5B1 engines.
The aircraft returned to Mogadishu where it landed safely at 08:53 UTC (11:53 hours local time). This was the only fatal accident involving an A321-100. Location : +- 3km :

The only hull loss so far concerns the A321-131 B-22603 from Transasia.

On 21 March 2003 it collides with a airport service vehicle when landing at RW36R of Tainan (TNN), Taiwan. The 170 passengers and 5 crew members remained unharmed. V2530-A5 engines. Location : +-300m 22°57'09"N 120°12'28"E
